Privacy Policy
RunOut is a tool for record collectors that searches the Discogs catalogue and helps you browse your own Discogs collection. This page explains what data the app touches and what it doesn't.
What RunOut stores
All your data stays on your device in localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server operated by us. Stored items:
- Your Discogs personal access token (required to talk to the Discogs API).
- A cached copy of your Discogs collection and wantlist so the app works offline and loads instantly.
- UI preferences such as your default folder and recently used condition.
You can wipe everything at any time using Delete cached data & log out in Settings, or by clearing your browser / app data.
Third parties we talk to
- Discogs API (developers.discogs.com) — when you search, add, or sync. Requests go directly from your device to Discogs, authenticated with your personal access token. Their privacy policy applies to that traffic.
- GoatCounter (anonymous, privacy-friendly pageview counter) — collects a pageview event with your country and referrer. No cookies, no cross-site tracking. See goatcounter.com/help/privacy.
We do not use advertising networks, cross-site trackers, or analytics SDKs.
Camera
The native app versions of RunOut (Android and iOS) request camera access so you can scan vinyl record barcodes. The camera is only activated while you actively use the Scan button. Frames are processed on-device by the barcode scanner and are never uploaded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. Only the decoded barcode number is passed to the search field.
Children
RunOut is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the "last updated" date at the top will change too, and a notice will appear on the runout.io landing page.
